The British Trombone Society is pleased to announce the third competition for bass trombone players, not older than 23 years on Sunday, 20th November, 2016.
The competition winner may also be invited to perform at a BTS event of his/her choice during 2016-2017.
The preliminary round of the competition is through the submission of an unedited MP3 or CD recording of two works for bass trombone. The total playing time should be 12-15 minutes.

Candidates must be 23 or under on 20th November 2016 to be eligible to participate in the competition.
Candidates must submit an unedited MP3 or CD performance no later than 1 October 2016.
Audio files must arrive with the BTS Secretary, Alison Keep (D'Arcy Gate, Kelvedon Road, Tolleshunt D'Arcy, Essex, CM9 8EL): email@example.com, with your name, date of birth, title of own choice piece and a very brief biography.
In order to maintain impartiality, audio files must not include the name(s) of the performer(s) or any other identifying items.
The competition judges will be eminent professional bass trombonists.
Three finalists will be invited to play the same programme at the final competition; therefore, candidates must be free to perform at Oundle School, near Peterborough, on the day of the final round, Sunday 20th November, 2016.
A piano accompanist will be available at the final, to take place during the BTS East Anglia Trombone Day, or you may bring your own accompanist.
The judges’ decision will be final and binding. The audio files will remain the property of the BTS.
