In the interim weeks, Matthew Gee, Principal Trombone in the Royal Philharmonic, will continue Ian's teaching, working closely in conjunction with him. This is the first time since leaving for Vienna that Ian has made such a strong commitment to any UK institution, and he looks forward to building a strong class at the Academy. Also visiting the Academy three times a year will be Jörgen van Rijen of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, making the Academy one of the strongest trombone departments anywhere. Entrance auditions will take place on 12 December and all of those interested should register with the Academy as soon as possible. Anyone with any further questions should contact Ian directly via his website: www.ianbousfield.com.
