The BBC National Orchestra of Wales gives the world première of Simon Wills’ Nora Barnacle Assumes Command. Written for BBC NOW Principal Trombone Donal Bannister, the work is described by the composer as a ballet concertante for large orchestra with solo trombone, inspired by the writings of James Joyce. For those unable to make it to Cardiff the concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
