8-13 July 2013 marks the fifth year for the Pokorny Low Brass Seminar at the University of Redlands, California, USA. Each year this has been an inspiring week of masterclasses, recitals and lectures to help aspiring musicians to advance their performance and seasoned professionals to renew their passion. The unprecedented access to the faculty as well as the intense interaction with excellent peers provides a unique opportunity for all low brass players.

This year the faculty will include:

  • Gene Pokorny, tuba and Michael Mulcahy, trombone from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra;
  • Randy Hawes, bass trombone from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra;
  • Jeff Reynolds, bass trombone (ret.) of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra;
  • Tim Higgins, principal trombone from the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.

The opportunity to observe master teachers in action, ask all the questions and compare notes with your colleagues is a fantastic experience.
