The British Trombone Society is pleased to announce a partnership with the Black Dyke Band Brass Arts Festival on 31 May 2009.

Within the Festival, the BTS will hold a massed blow, composers' collective and workshop, as well as an opportunity to visit trade stands.

Registration takes place at 10.30am at the Albert Room in Leeds Town Hall in the centre of Leeds. A warm-up will take place at 10.45am led by Brett Baker, BTS Vice President. At 11.00am Bob Hughes, BTS President, will rehearse the ensemble in two works to be performed in the afternoon concert with Black Dyke Band at 3.00pm.

At 12.45pm, trombonists will have an opportunity to listen to a composers' collective involving the playing of new trombone works including pieces that were composed especially for the 2008 BTS Composers' Competition, as well as guest soloists performing new pieces for trombone; the Black Dyke Trombone Quartet will also perform.

There will then be a further opportunity for a rehearsal of the trombone choir before the concert at 3.00pm.

The morning workshop and afternoon concert are free of charge to BTS members.
