Applications are invited for
The British Trombone Society Composers' Competition 2024
The Competition is to be judged by Callum Au (Composer, Arranger, Orchestrator and Trombonist), Dan Jenkins (Composer and Sub-Principal Trombone of BBC Symphony Orchestra) and Alex Paxton (Composer and improvising jazz trombonist).
WINNER
The winner will receive the British Trombone Society Trophy and the winning work will be published by Warwick Music Publishing.
RUNNERS UP
Two runners up will each receive a one hour composition lesson with a judge
Applicants are to submit an original composition for 8-part trombone ensemble, of no more than 8 minutes in duration. The work may be written for all members of the trombone family (soprano, alto, tenor, bass and contrabass). No percussion or electronics are to be employed.
Applications close Monday, 1 July 2024.
Entry is free of charge.
