The BTS is for everyone interested in the trombone and we make no distinctions based on age, ability, or any other considerations. Membership is also open to non-players, too, as well as amateurs and professionals, teachers and academics.
There are several categories of membership. For more information, check out the membership section, which has details of fees. Don’t waste another second, join the BTS today!
The BTS magazine, The Trombonist, and website are free to members. The magazine is published online in the spring, summer and winter and contains articles on every facet of trombone playing - from Early Music to Jazz and Avant Garde - and takes account of the needs and interests of all players from the beginner to the advanced player in every style of music. The Trombonist is well-supported by instrument manufacturers and music publishers and contains the latest information in these areas, plus regional and concert news and reviews. Members gain free or reduced charge entry to all BTS events with the chance to meet, listen to, and learn from the greatest players and teachers, plus they also have the opportunity to meet hundreds of trombonists from home and abroad. The magazine is accessed via the members’ only section of the website [Resources/The Trombonist/The Trombonist Magazine]. Special deals are also available to members-only, such as discount on instrument repairs, sheet music, instrument insurance, city centre parking and much more.
We exist to promote the trombone and its repertoire in all musical styles. The BTS commissions new compositions, arranges concerto performances, recitals, workshops, lectures and seminars. Once a year, we usually stage a major festival, held at a different location on each occasion, when a full day of trombone education and entertainment is on offer. There are also local and regional events and there is always a massed trombone choir session which everyone is invited to play in.
