Peter Gane and Denis Wick Reunion

Exactly fifty years since his first trombone lesson at the age of fourteen, Peter Gane was reunited with his former teacher and colleague in the London Symphony Orchestra, Denis Wick, in Bolzano, Italy. Peter Gane and Denis Wick are in the centre of the photograph above, flanked by the trombone and tuba players of the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. They are carefully chosen by audition every year and are the finest players from the top music colleges all over Europe. Peter Gane and Denis Wick have been the tutors for the low brass sections of EUYO and GMJO for 28 years and 20 years respectively.
